One of the original founders and initiators of Grateful Generation Tours is Teun van Doorn. Since Teun was 8 years old, he collected items from the Second World War. He now has an unique collection with, among others, a number of identified items. During the Tours of Grateful Generation Tours, information about Operation Market Garden gets told as wel as stories of veterans who participated in this operation. The items are on display in the permanent exhibition of the ‘In memory of Market Garden’ foundation. For more information about the foundation, please take a look at the page ‘Foundation‘. At the end of the tour there is a visit to the exhibition.
The exhibition can also be visited by appointment. Please contact us by mailing to teun@gratefulgenerationtours.nl, or filling in the contact form.
Of many veterans, stories get told during the tours of Grateful Generation Tours. In the exhibition ‘In memory of Market Garden‘, are their original items, uniforms and memorabilia on display. During the visit of the exhibition, again the stories of the real heroes are told and they get extra attention, by giving additional information. In the exhibition, their stories get told in the best way we possibly can. For every identified item there is in the exhibition, the most respect and attention in telling their stories is paid. These stories are gathered by among others reports, interviews with veterans, shared stories by relatives and friends of the veterans, books, and a lot of extra research. The purpose of the In memory of Market Garden foundation is keeping the memory alive of Operation Market Garden, with special attention to the veterans. Because of the items in the exhibition, our visitors can experience the history even more in a special way. After a tour with Grateful Generation Tours there is a posibility to visit the exhibition. Although the foundation and Grateful Generation Tours work closely together, they are 2 seperate organizations.
Below, you can see several veterans who’s items are displayed in the exhibition. Everything possible is done, to give everything the place and display it deserves. From all the veterans, there is a lot of detailed information wich gets told in the exhibition itself. If you have any questions about anything or any of the veterans, please feel free to mail us at teun@gratefulgenerationtours.nl or t.v.doorn@hotmail.com (chairman of the In memory of Market Garden foundation).
In the exhibition, perfect circumstances to preserve the items as best as possible are arranged. This is done by making sure the temperature and humidity are both set on perfect depot level, for the best preservation. Next to that, everything is highly secured.

What a remarkable collection. I love seeing these items. Well done!
Teun & family, I cannot thank you enough for your dedication and commitment to those who served and made huge sacrifices for today's society. I know everyone in my family is very proud of you all and Lt. Thomas McLeod would love what you all have done. Thank you!
Teun, thank you for caring about preserving all this memorabilia and creating such an interesting display. Since our father was captain of one of the troop carriers, it is especially vivid in creating how it must have felt to be on that plane at that moment. Thank you for devoting so much time and attention to honor those who have gone before. May your museum have great succes!
Thank you for contacting us to let us know of this exhibit. As daughters of Col Lloyd Waldorf we are touched that you promote memory of the heroism and courage of the allies.
Thank you to you and your family for keeping alive the memory of Donald McKeage, a proud paratrooper of the 82nd Airborne and veteran of operation Market Garden.

Your knowledge of the war and your collection are truly remarkable. Thank you for bringing back the stories of so many people. It's vital to remember all of this - as democracy, liberty, justice are values, dreams that continue to live and evolve. We must recall the lessons that were learned in WWII.
Wonderful collection! Thank you!
